Who We Are

Built on Authority.
Driven by Integrity.

Department of Halal Certification Europe (DHCE) is the only internationally accredited and Irish owned halal certification body. We operate under the supervision of the Islamic Centre of Ireland, one of Ireland’s most respected Islamic authorities, established in 2004.

DHCE specialises in the supervision, inspection, auditing, and certification of halal principles across the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries. Every certification we issue is based on recognised halal standards and aligned with applicable EU regulatory requirements.

We currently operate across Ireland, the UK, and Mainland Europe, supervising and certifying abattoirs, food processing companies, cosmetics manufacturers, and pharmaceutical companies to the highest halal standards.

The Halal Opportunity

A Market Too Large to Ignore

The global halal market is one of the fastest-growing economic sectors in the world. For businesses in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals, halal certification is no longer optional — it is a commercial imperative.

A $6 Trillion Market by 2034

The global halal food market alone is valued at $2.7 trillion in 2025 and projected to reach $6 trillion by 2034, growing at a CAGR of over 9%. This makes halal one of the most significant growth sectors in global trade.

Beyond Religion — A Global Quality Standard

Halal certification is increasingly recognised by non-Muslim consumers as a symbol of quality, hygiene, and ethical production. In Europe, 12% of halal food purchases are now made by non-Muslims… a figure that continues to grow!

European Businesses Have a Clear Advantage

Ireland and Europe are ideally positioned to export to Muslim-majority markets across Southeast Asia and the Middle East. DHCE certification is recognised by JAKIM, MUIS, EIAC, and IHAF, giving you direct access to these high-value markets.

Halal Certification Is Now a Trade Requirement

Major importers, retailers, and distributors in Muslim-majority markets increasingly require halal certification before listing products. Without it, Irish and European businesses are locked out of some of the world’s fastest-growing consumer markets.
